The entrepreneurial community in the Chicago area has grown like wildfire over the past few years. Every night in Chicago there are no fewer than five functions to go to that serve the entrepreneurial community, and frequently there are weekend events. In the late 1980s the I-88 corridor was known as the high tech area of Illinois, but today very little networking and sharing among entrepreneurs is occurring in the far western suburbs.
There is more networking among entrepreneurs in Champaign than there is in DuPage county. Between Naperville, Aurora and Joliet and the towns in between, there are over 500,000 people in this area. It is felt that there are many startups and even more entrepreneurs and sole proprietors who work from home, but there is no central place to congregate and network like there is in downtown Chicago.
Everything is dispersed out here. This networking event is meant to get this “hidden community” out of their homes and offices for a night of networking to create a more visible entrepreneurial community in the greater Naperville area.
Please be part of this experiment, and please feel free to forward this to people you know in the area who should be there. Please help spread the word. If there’s value to this, we’ll make it a monthly gig.
Who Should Attend: All Entrepreneurs, people who are self-employed and people who work from home.
THIS EVENT IS NOT LIMITED TO UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS ALUMNI!
